I have very little experience with an iPad. However, I feel I learned a lot through various activities and this class. Getting Started with iPads is a very good resource for teachers who are thinking about using them in their classroom. It provides resources for all different subjects, test preparation, note taking, and iPad help. This makes me want to “mess with” one! I am still a little shocked at the number of one to one schools that provide one iPad to each child. I think that it is a great way to help students learn and teacher’s teach, but I do think that proper planning and implementation would be needed. The iPads for Learning website has a lot of great resources for implementing iPads in schools. Personally, I am skeptical about having textbooks only on the iPad. I think it is a great way to help certain students learn and very “green.” However, I am a student who gets headaches if I stare at a computer or phone screen for too long and I worry that students would have that happen or get distracted with all the other apps and not focus. My mom is talking about getting an iPad and I think that once I am able to really use one and learn more about them, I will be able to form a better opinion.
